CITMA London Lectures get a new home21 June 2017
After many years at the Royal College of Surgeons, from July 2017 our London Lectures are moving to a new temporary home– 58 Victoria Embankment, near Blackfriars Bridge.
Long-standing CITMA venue The Royal College of Surgeons on Lincoln’s Inn Fields is undergoing extensive refurbishment for the next two years, necessitating the move.
58 Victoria Embankment, known as 58VE, is a modern events and office space and we’ll be occupying a 120-capacity room for our London Lectures, starting with July’s lecture.
The opening lecture on 18th July will see Alice Stagg from Gowling WLG summarising the key CJEU and General Court trade mark judgements from the past year. These include the Rubik’s cube, KitKat, and the blue and white wrapper of the German ‘Knoppers’ bar.
Security arrangements at the new venue make it essential to book in advance for our London Lectures. Click here to book your place at the July London Lecture.
Opened in December 2016, 58VE is a new nine-storey building close to the Thames and is home to innovation foundation Nesta among others. It is located within a short walk of Blackfriars station.
Formerly it was called Audit House. The original building was demolished to make way for the new space, however the original facade has been retained.
