CBE for IPO Deputy Chief Executive02 January 2018
Intellectual Property Office (IPO) Deputy Chief Executive Sean Dennehey has been awarded a CBE in the New Year’s Honours list.
Sean has been recognised for services to intellectual property. He joined the IPO as a patent examiner in 1978. In his current role of Deputy Chief Executive he is responsible for the UK’s national patent, trade mark and registered design systems.
Sean has acted as Chief Executive at various times, including most recently in 2016/17.
CITMA President Kate O’Rourke welcomed the news, she said: “I would like to congratulate Sean on this honour. The award is thoroughly deserved for his dedication to IP and is recognition of his outstanding work throughout his time at the IPO."
Sean spoke at the launch of CITMA in November 2016, following the award of our Royal Charter (see picture).
