Catharina is partner at city law firm Bates Wells, the UK's first B-Corp law firm. She is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and in a previous life was also as a European Patent Attorney. She entered the profession in 2006, co-heading the London office of an international boutique IP law firm.

Catharina joined Bates Wells in 2014 and enjoys assisting household name charities, membership organisations, socially responsible businesses, and start-ups.

In addition to advising on general trade mark clearance, prosecution and registration matters, much of Catharina’s work involves advising clients on the law of infringement and passing off, as well as company and charity names. Her love of languages assists her in advising on overseas matters.

Catharina has been described as “highly recommended for trade mark matters” (Legal 500, 2018). "Catharina Waller offers friendly in-depth knowledge and experience that [her team] use to generate advice that we trust implicitly" (Legal 500, 2022).
