With more than 10,000 IP professionals expected at ExceL London from 2nd–6th May 2026, the collective choices we make about how we travel, move around and behave on-site add up to a significant environmental impact. Here are our top tips for making your week in London a greener one.
Use public transport on the ground
ExceL London is superbly connected by public transport. The venue sits between two stations: Custom House, served by the Elizabeth line and DLR, and Prince Regent on the DLR. From Heathrow, the Elizabeth line takes you directly to Custom House in around 45 minutes. Skip the taxi - it is slower, more expensive and far more carbon-intensive.
Walk or cycle between meetings
For those all-important meetings – check the walking and cycling times, you may be surprised by how efficient and pleasant it is to walk. Santander Cycles are available across London, with a Day Pass from £3.50 for unlimited 60-minute rides.
Be a conscious venue guest
Excel London has brought its net zero target forward by five years and holds carbon-neutral certification to the PAS 2060 standard. The venue operates a zero-waste-to-landfill policy, procures 100% renewable energy and provides drinking water fountains throughout, displacing an estimated 200,000 plastic bottles each year. Bring a reusable water bottle and take advantage of them.
Think before you pick up swag
The INTA exhibition floor is legendary for branded giveaways. This year, challenge yourself to be selective. Only pick up items you will genuinely use - a quality pen or notebook beats a tote bag that ends up in landfill. The most sustainable promotional item is one that never gets thrown away.
Go digital where you can
Use INTA's event app for your schedule, session materials and networking. Decline printed handouts at exhibition stands where a digital alternative exists. Small habits across 10,000 delegates generate a meaningful cumulative reduction.
Choose sustainable dining
London has a thriving scene of sustainability-conscious restaurants. When booking client dinners, consider venues with a Michelin Green Star or B Corp certification.
Choose the train over the plane
The single biggest sustainability decision you will make is how you get to London. Thank you if you were able to and have travelled in a more sustainable way, particularly if you are coming from nearby.
Making conscious choices throughout the week - however small - reflects the values our profession increasingly champions for the brands we protect. We hope to see you in London making every step count.
