Alison is a director at Murgitroyd & Co and advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters, with particular emphasis on the acquisition, management and exploitation of trade marks. She works with clients worldwide in a number of sectors, in particular pharmaceuticals, food products, electronics, financial/insurance services and testing and inspection services. She has particular expertise in trade mark clearance searching, development and implementation of international IP protection strategies, oppositions/invalidations and transactional support. She provides clients with strategic and tactical advice on the development of brands and the management and organisation of global IP portfolios. She is probably the most experienced practitioner in the UK in the highly specialised field of certification marks. Alison is a Managing Intellectual Property Trade Mark Star 2020 and a contributor to the UK law section of the World Trademark Review.
