Azhar’s trade mark practice ranges from the filing and prosecution of UK, EU and International trade mark and design applications to clearance searches, advising on the law of infringement and passing off, due diligence projects and anti-counterfeiting/online brand management strategies. Azhar is also experienced in trade mark law and practice outside of the UK. He advises clients on worldwide filing and branding strategies and manages a number of worldwide trade mark portfolios.
Azhar also represents clients in contentious matters before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in opposition proceedings, revocation and invalidity actions and has appeared as an advocate before the UK Intellectual Property Office in trade mark hearings. Azhar also has experience in cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
In addition to trade marks, Azhar also advises on copyright and design matters and has handles domain name and social media disputes.
