Join us in Leeds to extend your understanding of the role played by an appointed person, with analysis of recent cases and tips for your work from Brian Whitehead.

The lecture will investigate the process of bringing appeals before the Appointed Person, with first hand practical tips that you can bring back to your own work.

You will leave with a developed understanding of how you can maximise your chances of a successful appeal, benefitting from Brian’s involvement in a variety of recent and high profile cases, including Tesco vs Lidl.

In particular, this talk will investigate appeals relating to packaging and other non-traditional trade marks and will also identify the do’s and don’t’s that you should consider when undertaking trade mark appeals.

Following the lecture, please join us for a drinks reception to mark World Intellectual Property Day, which this year celebrates women in IP. This will be a great opportunity for you to develop your industry connections, and to discuss what you have learned.

The lecture supports skill set 1: IP prosecution and validity of the Advanced Competency Framework.
