Have your say on Madrid System registration certificates
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) is seeking feedback on certificate issuance under the Madrid System. Share your views to help shape future discussions.
WIPO is running a survey to gather views on whether offices of designated Madrid System members should be required to issue a national or regional certificate when granting protection or renewing an international trade mark registration.
The Madrid System, an international framework managed by WIPO, allows trade mark owners to secure protection in over 130 countries by filing a single application through one portal.
Your input matters
Your feedback will help WIPO understand the real-world needs of Madrid System users. The survey was requested at the 23rd session of the Working Group on the Legal Development of the Madrid System, held in September 2025.
The results will inform discussions at the next Working Group session, set to take place in October this year.
How to respond
The survey is anonymous and takes no more than 10 minutes to complete. It is open to international trade mark registration holders and representatives.
Complete the survey on certificate issuance by 24th April 2026.
