CITMA Paralegals nominated for national award

Three CITMA members have been shortlisted for the “Best Trade Mark Paralegal” award at the 2021 National Paralegal Awards.

The awards celebrate the best of the UK paralegal industry across 19 categories.

The finalists for the “Best Trade Mark Paralegal” award are:

  • Gail Nicol - Cameron Intellectual Property
  • JoAnna Emery - Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd
  • Kate Houten - HGF Limited

Kate Houten is a trade mark formalities officer in HGF’s Manchester office.

Gail Nicol is an IP administrator for Cameron Intellectual Property and is training to become a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney. Gail is involved with CITMA, sitting on the CITMA Paralegal Committee and CITMA Paralegal events working group.

Both Gail and Kate are CITMA Paralegal members. JoAnna Emery is a senior IP paralegal at Cambridge Mechatronics. She is an Associate member of CITMA, and was shortlisted for the same award in 2020.

JoAnna has also been shortlisted for "Paralegal of the Year- South" and "Best Patent Paralegal".

This category of the competition is sponsored by CITMA. In 2020, it was won by Rachel Bowerman, who is a senior paralegal at Lane IP Limited.

This year’s virtual awards ceremony will take place on 23rd September, followed by a winners’ lunch at the Royal Leonardo Hotel on the 18th October.
