Charter win

CITMA scooped an Association Award for our Royal Charter campaign at a ceremony in Manchester last night.

The award, in the ‘effective voice’ category, recognises our campaign to successfully implement the Royal Charter and our work to shape perceptions and re-position the organisation and profession.

We finished ahead of entries for the British Pest Control Association and Careers at Sea in the category.

About CITMA's entry, the expert judging panel said: “A campaign with a remarkable strategy and reach for the money spent. Good member engagement on the value of being Chartered, and what it would mean to CITMA's members. The value sits with the membership and the Institute; members were used as ambassadors for the new Chartered Mark.”

CITMA was also nominated for ‘best association e-newsletter’ but we were pipped to the award by Building Engineering Services Association. Our e-newsletter was launched in January 2017 and has brought content to CITMA members in a relevant and engaging way.

The awards, run by the Association of Association Executives, “raises the profile of associations, their executives, and gives them the recognition for their effort and success”. The winners were revealed on 14th December 2017 as part of the Associations Congress event in Manchester.

CITMA Chief Executive Keven Bader said: “CITMA has achieved a lot over the past 18 months - the award of our Royal Charter and subsequent launch campaign being particular highlights. Bringing this project through to completion was a real team effort, which makes it even more special to pick up this award.”
