IPReg confirms new AI guidance
The regulator of trade mark and patent attorneys, IPReg, has published its guidance on the use of artificial intelligence in professional practice.

IPReg said on its website that its “guidance is based on existing requirements, not the creation of new ones. It is deliberately not prescriptive, while being proportionate and outcome focused. It is principles based, technology agnostic but pro-innovation, whist seeking to manage the risks associated with new technologies carefully”.
It also acknowledged that this is a “fast evolving area” and that it will “continue to review and update this guidance as necessary as this technology and its impact develops”.
