In 2020 the IP firm Haseltine Lake Kempner appointed Soni Basra as their first female ethnic minority partner. To celebrate the occasion, they kindly shared with us an interview with Soni in which she talked about the impact of her gender and race, and more generally her suggestions for improving diversity and inclusion in the future.

We’re delighted that Soni has offered to speak directly to IP Futures in an informal “fireside chat” with IP Inclusive’s Lead Executive Officer Andrea Brewster. Drawing on her experiences in the IP professions, and her journey to where she is now, Soni will be explaining what she’d tell her younger self if she could go back in time – about confidence, challenges and fighting your own corner. She’ll also share her thoughts on how more senior people can be champions and role models for others.

This will be an informal event and we won’t be recording. There’ll be a Q&A session too, where you’ll have the opportunity to put your own questions to Soni.

This event is free. So are all our resources. We think it’s important to keep IP Inclusive the right side of the paywall.

That said, we do need money to keep the show on the road, so if you enjoy the event please consider contributing to our 2021-22 fundraising campaign.
