Develop your understanding of the intricacies and challenges of collective and certification marks directly from the UK IPO’s lead in this area.

Collective and certification marks fall outside of many trade mark professionals’ day-to-day. Therefore, ensuring that you have a watertight understanding is crucial for when they arise.

Mark Studley, who leads the team for collective and certification trade marks at the UK IPO, takes you through the key cases that he has worked on which demonstrate the intricacies and challenges of these marks.

With the key takeaway that there is no specific or one size fits all approach to handling these marks, this talk will simplify the process of handing them by running through the information that you may be expected to handle.

You will also leave with an understanding of the regulations that are in place, and the various purposes that they serve for practitioners and rights holders.

Additionally, Mark will draw on key areas of case law to demonstrate real-life application and the potential difficulties that you may face when working in this area.

The webinar supports skill set 1.1: Objections of the Advanced Competency Framework.
