Legal Services Board appoints new CEO

Craig Westwood has been announced as the LSB’s new CEO. He will step into the role from mid-August 2024.

In his new role at the LSB, Craig will also serve as the LSB’s Accounting Officer and will become a member of the Board.

The Legal Services Board is the oversight regulator for legal regulators in England and Wales, including IPReg.

Prior to joining the LSB, Craig worked with the Electoral Commission as Director of Communications, Policy and Research for eight years.

He also has experience across the Civil Service, including as a ministerial private secretary within the coalition government formed in 2010.

Alan Kershaw, Chair of the Legal Services Board, said:

“I am delighted that Craig will be joining us. We are impressed not only with his experience but also with his passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the public interest.

“He will bring to the Board an excellent blend of leadership, people focus and drive to take our organisation forward and ensure that regulation supports people to access the legal services they need.”
