Nominations open for the Sheila Lesley Award
We're looking for our next winner and we need your help to find them.
Our community is strong because of the people who give their time to it. Across our committees, steering groups, taskforces and working groups, a network of dedicated volunteers shapes our work, sets our priorities and helps the profession to thrive. Now we want to recognise them, and we're inviting you to put someone forward.
Nominations for the Sheila Lesley Award are now open.
About the award
We named this award after Sheila Lesley OBE, our first female president, who sadly passed away in 2019. Sheila gave so much of her time and energy to CITMA and to the profession that naming the award in her honour felt fitting.
We present it each year to a CITMA member who sits on a committee, steering group, taskforce or working group and has made a real impact through their contributions over the past 12 months. Our recent winners, Ese Akpogheneta in 2024 and Azhar Sadique in 2025, show exactly the kind of dedication we're celebrating.
Who you can nominate
You can nominate yourself or a colleague. Our judges will be looking for a CITMA member who, through their work on a committee, steering group, taskforce or working group, has:
- Made a positive impact on the profession and/or society
- Demonstrated a significant contribution over the past 12 months
- Aligned their work with CITMA's strategic objectives
How to nominate
Simply complete and submit the nomination form. The deadline for submissions is Friday 11th September 2026.
We'll present the award to our winner at the CITMA Christmas Lunch on 4th December 2026 at the Royal Lancaster London.
Help us recognise the people who make our profession what it is.
